Burundi: Hafi
Summary
The Hafi Cooperative brings together around 2,000 smallholder farmers in Burundi's remote Muyinga Province. Grown at 1,715 metres above sea level, this Bourbon variety coffee is naturally processed on raised beds. Farmers turned their distance from the nearest wet mill into an advantage, becoming masters of natural processing. The coffee offers a flavour profile of raspberry, peach yoghurt, and cherry — bright, fruity, and complex with a creamy finish. Exported by JNP Coffee through their Dushimé programme, which provides an additional premium payment to producers after each harvest.
