Summary
Familia Perez is a specialty coffee from Costa Rica's West Valley region, produced by Ricardo Perez at Finca Santa Lucia. Grown at 1700 meters altitude, it consists of Villa Lobos and Caturra varieties processed using the Yellow Honey method. The flavour profile features notes of apricot, macadamia, hibiscus, and peach. Ricardo Perez has been a pioneer of the micro mill revolution in Costa Rica since 2004, winning a gold medal at the country's first Cup of Excellence in 2007 with over 91 points. This coffee is suitable for filter brewing methods including V60, Chemex, AeroPress, and French Press.
