Karatu is a single-origin coffee from Tanzania's Ngila Estate, located on the edge of the cloud forest surrounding the Ngorongoro crater in Northern Tanzania. It features the SL28 variety and is processed using the Red Honey method: fresh cherries are floated to remove defects, fermented in wooden boxes for 3-4 days, pulped with minimal water, and dried on raised beds. The cup profile offers notes of roasted hazelnut, cocoa, and dried fruit, with a smooth, balanced, and sweet character.
