Summary
Amkeni is a washed Bourbon coffee from the Amkeni cooperative in Mwika, on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Grown at 1,600–1,750 meters above sea level, it undergoes a fully washed process with overnight fermentation and drying on raised beds. The cup offers heavy aromas of tamarind, juicy sweetness of blueberry, and a creamy body of vanilla. The cooperative, founded in 1999, has 45 members and works with This Side Up to improve quality and farmer livelihoods.
