Costa Rica: Granitos - Ortiz 1800
Summary
A Yellow Honey Catuai from Micro-Beneficio Granitos de Altura del Ortiz, a family-run micromill at 1,800 m.a.s.l. in the Tarrazú region of Costa Rica, managed by sisters Joyce and Johana Calderón with their father Omar. Grown on the Ortiz 1800 farm in fertile volcanic soils, the coffee is depulped with mucilage left intact and dried on raised beds. The cup shows gentle peach sweetness, marzipan, sultanas and a touch of cream on the aftertaste, with more fruit and body than a washed coffee.
