Summary

Kieni washing station is located in Nyeri County, Kenya, between the eastern slopes of the Aberdare Range and Mount Kenya. The area is known for its fertile, mineral-rich dark red volcanic soils. The coffee is processed using the wet method: cherries are selectively hand-picked, pulped with a disc pulper, fermented for about 16 hours, washed, soaked, and dried on raised beds for 7-15 days. It is lightly roasted and offers a crisp, light-bodied cup with pleasant acidity and fruity character. Composed of SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11 varieties grown at 1800 masl. Recommended for cold brew, maceration, cold drip, pour-over, and AeroPress. Flavor notes include green apple, rhubarb, and currant.
