Huila Decaf
Summary
Huila Decaf comes from Acevedo, in southern Huila, Colombia, grown at 1,630 metres by the Grupo Asociativo San Isidro, a community of 85 members with over 45 years of history in Acevedo and Pitalito. The lot is made up of Colombia and Castillo varieties, washed with manual harvesting of ripe cherries, controlled fermentations and sun drying. It is then decaffeinated using ethyl acetate (EA) derived from sugarcane. The cup is sweet, creamy and comforting, with milk chocolate as the leading note, caramel adding integrated sweetness and a soft texture, medium body and balanced acidity. Roasted for espresso, it also works well with milk.
