Burundi, Bumba - Single Origin Filter
Summary
Single origin washed coffee from Bumba Hill in Burundi's Kayanza region, grown by 698 smallholder farmers at 1700-1900 MASL and processed by Long Miles Coffee at Ninga Washing Station. The Red Bourbon trees, averaging around 200 per plot, are cultivated alongside beans, bananas, maize and cassava. Cherry is delivered on picking day, floated, hand sorted and disc pulped, then fermented under water, graded in washing channels and soaked in clean water before slow drying on raised beds to 10-11% moisture. The cup leads with ripe nectarine and bright lime acidity, a malty middle with biscuit and light caramel sweetness, and a dry chamomile finish over a crisp yet silky texture.
