Burundi, Bumba - Single Origin Espresso
Summary
Single origin espresso from Bumba Hill in Burundi's Kayanza region, grown by 698 smallholder farmers on plots averaging 800 square metres at 1700-1900 MASL. Red Bourbon variety, washed process: cherry delivered on picking day, floated, hand sorted, disc pulped, fermented under water, graded in washing channels, soaked in clean water and dried slowly on raised beds to 10-11% moisture. Processed by Long Miles Coffee at Ninga Washing Station. Cup profile of ripe nectarine, lime acidity, malt and biscuit sweetness, and a chamomile finish, with a crisp entry and silky mid-palate.
