Costa Rica, Minor Jimenez Abarca - Single Origin Espresso
Summary
Single origin natural coffee from Finca La Esmeralda in Tarrazu, Costa Rica, grown by Minor Jimenez Abarca and Nancy Gaitan Cruz at 1650 MASL. The lot combines Catuai and Caturra varieties, with cherries fermented whole overnight and dried on patios in the sun for 30 to 40 days. In the cup it shows rounded acidity and lasting sweetness with notes of apple, peach, baked biscuit and honey, and a soft, confectionery-like mouthfeel reminiscent of nougat. Filter brewing highlights the fruit, while espresso and milk bring forward the biscuit and honey.
