Gakenke Honey
Summary
Gakenke Honey is a single-origin coffee from Burundi's Kyanza region, produced by nearly 1,800 small-scale farmers growing Red Bourbon variety at altitudes between 1,500 and 1,800 meters. The coffee is processed at the Gakenke washing station using the honey method, where the skin and part of the mucilage are removed before drying on raised beds. This creates a sweet and clean cup with floral and fruity notes. Flavour profile includes lemongrass, honey, and blackcurrant. Light roast intended for filter preparation.
