Kenya, Mugaya Aa, Washed
Summary
Kenyan washed coffee from Mugaya Factory, a washing station in Kirinyaga at the foot of Mount Kenya, established in 1975 and supplied by around 1700 smallholder farmers through the Mutira Farmers' Cooperative Society. Cherries are sorted, pulped the same day, dry fermented for 24 hours, washed with water from the Rwamuthambi River, soaked a further 6 hours and dried on raised beds. The lot is 90% SL28 and SL34. Smooth cup with floral notes of orange blossom, sweetness of dark red fruits and a creamy, satisfying finish.
