Burundi Yandaro Honey - Filter
Summary
This coffee comes from the Yandaro Washing Station in the Kayanza region of Burundi, near the Rwandan border. It is produced by over 2,300 smallholder farmers who cultivate an average of only 350 coffee trees each. The station, established in the mid-1980s, works with Greenco to support local producers. The coffee is a Red Bourbon variety grown at approximately 1,800 meters above sea level. It undergoes honey processing, which is relatively uncommon in Burundi, resulting in a juicy cup with stone fruit character and pronounced sweetness, while retaining the bright, elegant acidity characteristic of Kayanza coffees.
