Danche
Summary
Danche is a washed Ethiopian coffee from the Gedeb area of Yirgacheffe, produced by around 800 smallholder farmers who deliver cherries to the Danche washing station, managed by SNAP Coffee. Grown at 2000-2300 m, the lot combines the Kurume and Wolisho indigenous varieties. Cherries are sorted by density, pulped, fermented and dried on raised African beds for around 20 days. In the cup it shows sweet fruity notes of peach and pear over a lemon tart base with hints of brown sugar, a long fruity finish, juicy acidity and a creamy body.
