Bombe Ayla 74110 - 74158 Natural
Summary
This coffee comes from the Ayla washing station in the Bensa woreda of Ethiopia's Sidama Region, near the highlands of Bombe. It is produced from farms around Bombe at elevations up to 2000 meters, where coffee grows under native shade trees alongside food crops. Around 800 smallholder farmers deliver cherries to Ayla, which was established in 2018 by Faysel Abdosh of Testi Specialty Coffee. This lot is composed of varieties 74110 and 74158, catalogued by the Jimma Agricultural Research Centre in 1974. The cherries are selectively handpicked, visually inspected, washed, and dried on raised beds for 15 to 20 days. The coffee is processed as Natural.
