Summary

This coffee comes from the Gakenke washing station in Kayanza province, Burundi, where 1,780 registered small producers cultivate Red Bourbon on about 250 plants each. Cherries are hand-picked, floated, sorted, and depulped within 6 hours, then slowly dried on raised beds for 2-3 weeks. The honey process yields a cup with notes of date, amaretto, and dark chocolate. Recommended for espresso and Italian moka.
