Kenya - Thiriku Aa
Summary
Single-origin washed Kenyan coffee from the Thiriku Farmers Cooperative Society in Nyeri County, grown at around 1,800 masl on volcanic soils from the Aberdares. Cultivated by roughly 2,000 members using SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11 and Batian varieties. Ripe cherries are handpicked, pulped and fermented for 12–24 hours, washed in clean water channels, soaked a further 12–24 hours, then slowly sun-dried on raised beds. In the cup expect rich blackcurrant and pomegranate acidity balanced by deep molasses sweetness.
