Aricha
Summary
Aricha is an Ethiopian coffee from the Aricha region of Yirgacheffe, processed at the Konga Yirgacheffe washing station at 2,100 meters above sea level. Grown from Heirloom varieties on small family plots under shade trees, the cherries undergo Natural Anaerobic fermentation in barrels for nine days, followed by 13–18 days of slow drying on raised beds. The cup shows a fruity, enzymatic fragrance with orange liqueur, aromatic herbs and yellow tropical fruits over a base of cacao nibs, caramel and butter, with an oily body, medium-high acidity and a long, fruity, liqueur-like finish. SCA score 91.5.
