Gedeb
Summary
Ethiopian coffee from Gedeb in the Gedeo Zone, a region often associated with Yirgacheffe for its shared climate, soils and cup profile. Grown by smallholder farmers cultivating less than five hectares in integrated coffee gardens, at around 2200 masl. Local landrace varieties, known as Ethiopian heirlooms, predominate alongside selections from the Jimma Agricultural Research Centre. Ripe cherries are pulped and wet fermented for 12-24 hours, then washed, graded and sun dried on raised African beds for 10-15 days. The cup shows bergamot, apricot and jasmine, with floral character, bright citrus acidity and a delicate, tea-like finish.
