Thunguri

Summary

Thunguri is a washed coffee from the Thunguri Factory, part of the Kibirigwi Farmers’ Cooperative Society in Kirinyaga, Kenya, grown by around 6,888 smallholder farmers at 2,500 meters above sea level on deep red volcanic soils. Varieties include SL-28, K7, Ruiru 11, and Batian. Cherries are hand-sorted, fermented 16–18 hours, washed, and dried on raised African beds. Flavour profile: blackberry jam, jasmine, cassis, with calm caramel sweetness and bright acidity.
