Taiwan Hsu Tingyeh - Sl34
Summary
Single-lot washed SL34 from Hsu Tingyeh's Zhou Wu Mountain farm in Chashan Village, Chiayi County, Taiwan, grown at 1,300 masl. The roughly 7-hectare farm was founded in 2001, when Tingyeh adapted high-mountain oolong fields to specialty coffee; everything from seed germination to drying and milling is done in-house. SL34 is an African cultivar of the typica genetic group, first selected in Kenya in the late 1930s. The cup shows raspberry, delicate white tea and a bright sumac zing, with notable clarity, cleanliness and brightness.
