Kamavindi Sl28 Pb
Summary
A washed SL28 peaberry lot from Kamavindi Estate in Kibugo, Embu, Kenya, grown at 1638-1750 masl on the windward side of Mount Kenya. The estate was planted by John Njiru Mbature in 1958 and is farmed today by his son Peter with family, steadily replanting toward pure SL28. This lot is washed in the Kenyan way and sorted down to peaberry, the single round seed that forms when only one seed develops in a cherry. Blackcurrant leads, with grapefruit acidity, tart rhubarb through the middle and brown sugar underneath.
