Summary
A washed coffee from Kirinyaga, Kenya, produced by 600 member farmers of the Karimikui Coffee Factory (established 1966), affiliated with Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society. The coffee is grown primarily with SL28 and SL34 cultivars, with some Batian and Ruiru 11. The washed process includes hand sorting, disc pulping, dry fermentation for 16-24 hours, washing, grading by density, soaking for 16-20 hours, and sun drying on raised beds for 14-16 days. Flavour notes include dark berries, juicy and complex characteristics.
