Burundi Nemba Kayanza

Summary

Burundi Nemba Kayanza is a single origin coffee from the Kayanza region in northern Burundi, near the border with Rwanda. The Nemba washing station receives cherries from 1,074 smallholder farmers who grow red Bourbon trees at high altitude on volcanic soils. The coffee is wet processed: sorted, pulped, dry fermented up to 12 hours, washed in clean water, and double soaked before being dried on raised beds for two to three weeks. The cup has a fresh berry flavour, apple-like fruitiness, and a citrusy, exceptionally long finish.
