Chelbesa Ethiopia - Washed Heirloom
Summary
Washed Ethiopian coffee from the Chelbesa washing station in the Gedeb area of the Gedeo Zone, Yirgacheffe, grown by smallholder farmers working with SNAP at 1950-2200 MASL. Heirloom varieties are grown in a semi-forest environment under native shade trees. Ripe cherries undergo a slow shaded fermentation of 45-60 hours before being fully washed and dried on raised African beds for 7-10 days. Flavour notes of black tea, tangerine, peach and honey, with floral elegance, lively citrus acidity and remarkable clarity.
