Tanzania - Ngila Estate
Summary
This SL28 coffee from the Glenmalure section of Ngila Estate in Tanzania's Arusha Region is grown on the edge of the cloud forest surrounding the Ngorongoro crater. The estate has cultivated coffee since the 1920s and was purchased by the Meyer family in 1992. Processed as washed: hand-sorted, pulped, fermented as parchment for 12 hours, washed, then dried on raised beds for 8 to 13 days. Tasting notes include blackcurrant, golden raisin, and prune. The farm covers about 100 hectares and borders a 50-hectare forest corridor supporting local wildlife.
