
Rwanda - Shanga - Station Simbi
Summary
Single origin coffee from the Simbi washing station in the Huye district of southern Rwanda. Produced by 1,850 smallholder farmers in the Shanga region, processed using the natural method on 125 solar drying beds. The coffee is of the Red Bourbon variety, grown at 1980-2250m altitude. Flavour notes include grape, chocolate, strawberry, mandarin, and floral. The station was founded by Abdul Rudahunga and in 2015 achieved 7th place at the Cup of Excellence competition with a score of 88.9.
