Kiawamururu
Summary
KIAWAMURURU is a Kenyan natural filter coffee from Nyeri, Mukurwe-ini, produced by the Rumukia Farmers Cooperative Society from roughly 900 smallholders. Grown at around 1,800 m on red volcanic soils between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains, it combines the typical Kenyan varieties SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11 and Batian. Fully ripe, hand-picked cherries are sorted and floated, then dried whole on raised beds for 20–30 days. The light roast keeps the dense Nyeri structure while the natural process adds sweetness and fruit. In the cup: ripe strawberry, floral hibiscus and a wild, fermentative note that turns creamy and blueberry-yogurt-like as it cools.
