Summary

A specialty coffee from the Amka-Mlimaji cooperative in the Kivu region of eastern Congo, grown at 1450-1850 masl on volcanic soils around Lake Kivu. The coffee is Red Bourbon variety, fully washed and dried on African beds. It presents tasting notes of chocolate, soft citric, and cocoa. The cooperative was founded in 2011 by 15 farmers and has grown to 2100 members, one third of whom are women.
