Kiamabara Washed
Summary
A Kenyan filter coffee from the Kiamabara washing station in Karatina, Nyeri, supplied by the Mugaga Farmers Cooperative Society, which gathers cherries from over 2,000 smallholders. Grown at 1650 m on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya, the lot combines SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11 and Batian varieties and is fully washed, with 12–24 hours of fermentation, washing and density grading in channels, 24 hours of soaking and 10–15 days of drying on raised beds or in solar dryers. Light roasted, it is sweet and juicy with medium body and medium acidity, showing citrus, forest berries and brown sugar.
