Burundi Kibingo
Summary
This coffee comes from the Kibingo washing station in the Kayanza region of northern Burundi, at approximately 1,893 meters above sea level. Around 1,739 smallholder farmers deliver their coffee cherries here, most growing Red Bourbon variety at altitudes between 1,700 and 1,900 meters. The station, built in 1986, uses a meticulous washed process: cherries are sorted, depulped within six hours, and dried on raised beds for 2-3 weeks. The coffee is floral and juicy with a smooth texture and vibrant sweetness, featuring notes of berries, lime, and caramel.
