Summary
Kenyan filter coffee from the Karimikui Factory, owned and operated by the Rung'eto Farmer Cooperative Society in Kirinyaga. Around 2,591 smallholder farmers deliver ripe red cherry from gardens below 1 hectare, cultivated at 1,600 to 1,700 metres above sea level. Varieties are SL28, SL34 and Ruiru 11. Cherry is selectively handpicked, visually sorted and floated, then pulped and fermented for 12 to 24 hours, washed in clean water and soaked for 24 hours before drying on raised beds for 7 to 14 days. Cup profile shows blackberry and blueberry notes with a hibiscus finish.
