Summary

Kisunga is a washed coffee from the Nord-Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, produced by the Kisunga washing station, part of the Virunga Coffee Company project. The coffee is a Red Bourbon variety, grown at high altitude in fertile volcanic soils near Virunga National Park. It offers tasting notes of orange, chocolate, cookie, and prune. The cherries are handpicked, fermented for 18-24 hours, washed, and dried on raised African beds for 12-18 days.
