Treat Selection: Kirambo
Summary
This exceptional coffee comes from the Nyamasheke region in southwestern Rwanda, on the shores of Lake Kivu. The area is known for its volcanic soil and humid microclimate, with altitudes between 1500-2100 meters. The coffee is produced by local family farms and processed at the Kirambo Washing Station, operated by Rwanda Trading Company since 2017. Hand-picked and carefully sorted, the beans undergo a natural (dry) process with 15-22 days of drying on raised beds. This method results in intense fruitiness, rich sweetness, and complex aromas. The variety is Red Bourbon, grown at 1545 meters. The coffee is roasted and encapsulated by Samurai Shoelace in 100% recyclable aluminum capsules.
