Ethiopian Beloya Carbonic Maceration
Summary
The Ethiopian Beloya Carbonic Maceration is a limited-edition single-origin coffee from Ethiopia's Kochere district in the Gedeo Zone. Sourced from smallholder farmers delivering to the Beloya washing station, this coffee features heirloom Arabica varieties processed using carbonic maceration (CM), a fermentation technique adopted from winemaking that creates an anaerobic environment in sealed tanks. The process develops wine-like, fermented fruit, liqueur-like, and spicy notes with a dense, full-bodied texture. Packaged in 10-count boxes of Nespresso-compatible aluminum capsules.
