Ethiopia Genji Challa
Summary
Genji Challa is a washed Ethiopian coffee from the Jimma region, produced by farmers of the Nano Challa cooperative in the Gera area of Agaro. The cherries are sourced from local kebeles and consist of Gibirinna 74110 and Serto 74112 varieties, both selected by the Jimma Agricultural Research Centre for their resistance to coffee berry disease. Grown at approximately 1,900 meters above sea level, the coffee is washed using a Penagos 5000 Eco pulper and dried on raised beds over 10 days. The cup profile offers notes of sugar cane, jasmine, and mandarin.
