El Salvador Las Cascadas
Summary
A filter-roast Pacamara from Finca La Cascada in La Palma, Chalatenango, El Salvador, grown at 1500 masl and produced by Melvin Portillo. Melvin migrated to the United States in 2012 and returned in 2022 to take over the farm, which his family planted with Pacamara in 2017; he now processes and dries the coffee himself on 20 raised beds on the farm. The cup is fruit-forward with good sweetness and structure, enjoyable from hot to cold, with notes of red currant, plum, dried apricot and roselle tea.
