Monserrate, Colombia
Summary
Monserrate is a smooth, balanced coffee from the Proagromil cooperative in Huila, Colombia, a small cooperative of about 90 members. Producers grow Colombia, Caturra, Tabi and Castillo varieties, each processing their own coffee, with differences in fermentation techniques and farm microbiology creating distinct lots that are blended together. Bright and fruity with crisp acidity, it shows notes of chocolate, walnut and raisin, and serves as a key component in espresso and house blends while also standing well on its own.
