Ethiopia Gelcha Kindu

Summary

Single-origin Ethiopian coffee from the Gelcha Kindu station in Gediyo, Gedeb, established in 2022 and working with a community of 2400 smallholder farmers. The Jarc varieties 74110, 74112 and 74165 are grown at 2100-2350 MASL as 'garden coffee'. This anaerobic black honey lot is selectively harvested and sorted, de-pulped with around 90% mucilage retained, then fermented for 72 hours in sealed tanks before slow drying on shaded raised beds to 10-12% moisture. Cupping notes selected by the roaster's Q Grader are pineapple, juniper and passionfruit.
