Kenya Gititu

Summary

Kenya Gititu is a speciality single origin coffee from the Kiambu region of Kenya, grown at 1400-1600 masl on smallholder farms around Mount Kenya and the Aberdare range. The cherries are delivered by about 800 farmers to the Gititu washing station, part of the Aguthi Farmers Cooperative Society, which uses special filtration tanks to limit environmental impact. Varieties include Batian, SL28, SL34 and Ruiru 11, processed using the washed method. The sensory profile features blackcurrant, raspberries and blackberries, with a berry-forward character. It has a Q score of 87 and is recommended for filter brewing methods such as pour over and AeroPress.
