El Salvador El Cerro Espresso
Summary
Single origin espresso from Finca El Cerro in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec region of El Salvador, produced by Fernando Escobar, whose family has grown coffee for over 150 years. Varieties Pacas and Bourbon, grown at 1500 m and washed (wet-processed), dried on raised beds under cover. The cup is clean, sweet and balanced with soft acidity and syrupy chocolate tones, showing notes of cocoa, nectarine and walnut. A portion of each kilo sold funds the farm's Café y Salud health project for its workers.
