Guatemala - El Buho
Summary
El Buho is a washed-processed espresso coffee from the El Buho plot on Las Terrazas farm, part of Finca La Bolsa in Huehuetenango, Guatemala, owned by the Vides family since 1958. The farm is RFA certified, follows C.A.F.E. Practices, and placed second in the 2002 Cup of Excellence. Made up of Caturra and Bourbon varieties, the coffee is sweet and calm with notes of limes, macadamia nuts and carrot cake, a rich syrupy body and apple and citrus acidity. The beans ferment for 18-24 hours before the mucilage is removed, then are sorted in water channels and soaked overnight. Roasted for espresso and suitable for espresso machines, automatic coffee machines and home brewing.
