Twongerekawa Coko
Summary
Twongerekawa Coko is a single-origin coffee from Rwanda, produced by the Twongerekawa Coko cooperative society in the Gakenke region. Grown at 2000-2300 meters above sea level, this coffee features Bourbon varieties. The coffee is hand-harvested, fermented 12 hours dry followed by 18 hours in fermentation tanks, and dried on African beds. The cooperative, led by president Therese Nyirangwabije, focuses on improving living conditions for farmers with emphasis on women farmers affected by the genocide. The coffee comes from the Gitaba village lot. The cooperative pays more than double the Fair Trade price for this coffee.
