Ethiopia Chelchele
Summary
Single-origin filter coffee from the Banko Chelchele washing station in the Gedeb woreda of the Gedeo Zone, part of the Yirgacheffe region in southern Ethiopia. Grown by local smallholder farmers on red clay soils at 1,900-2,300 meters above sea level, the lot uses local JARC varieties 74110 and 74112. Processed as natural with anaerobic fermentation (labeled Super Natural), involving 36-48 hours of extended fermentation and 27-30 days of slow drying. Offers a sweet, juicy and elegant profile with notes of peach iced tea, pink grapefruit and wild rose. Harvested winter 2025/2026 and recommended for filter preparation.
