Burundi Masenga Hill
Summary
A washed Red Bourbon coffee from Burundi, produced by Migoti Coffee in the Mumirwa region, Mutambu Commune. The lot is grown by 81 smallholder farmers led by Damien Baransamaje and Ernest Habonimana. Cherries are hand-harvested, fermented for a day, pulped, washed, pre-dried on shaded tables for five days, then sun-dried on raised beds for two to three weeks. The cup is balanced and crisp with bright citrus aromatics, rich brown sugar sweetness and notes of caramel, hibiscus and apple. Migoti supports climate-resilient farming, reforestation and soil health.
