Epipi - Uganda Zebigi
Summary
EPIPI - Uganda Zebigi is a microlot named after the village of Zebigi, located atop a table mountain above the processing station at around 2,000 m above sea level in the Mt. Elgon region of eastern Uganda. Produced by The Coffee Gardens with contributions from 307 smallholder farmers, averaging about 165 kg of fresh cherries each. The cherries are pulped, undergo a 40-hour dry fermentation, are thoroughly washed in cold mountain spring water, and dried on African drying beds in solar dryers, giving a fuller cup than typical washed coffees from the area. Cup profile: orange peel, walnuts and chocolate, full-bodied, juicy and fresh. 100% arabica specialty coffee, varieties Nyasaland, SL14, SL28. Cupping score 85.75. Recommended for filter brewing.
