Kiamutuira, Kenya
Summary
Kiamutuira is a Kenyan coffee from a washing station in Kirinyaga, near the Mount Kenya forest, part of the Mutira Cooperative Society. The station serves around 600 smallholder farmers, each cultivating about 0.1 hectares. Coffee grows between 1,650 and 1,700 metres under macadamia shade, primarily SL28, SL34 and Batian, and this lot was processed using the washed method. In the cup it shows vanilla sweetness, clean lemon acidity, cacao depth and a black tea finish — sweet, citrusy and clean, with the tea-like character becoming more defined as it cools.
