
Gakuyu-ini Peaberry
Summary
Gakuyu-Ini Peaberry is a washed Kenyan coffee from the Kirinyaga region, produced by the Thirikwa Farmers Cooperative. Grown at 1600-1700 meters on the slopes of Mount Kenya, this coffee consists of SL28 and SL34 varieties. The cup profile features raspberry and blackcurrant jam with bright acidity and deep, sweet complexity. The coffee is processed at the Gakuyu-ini washing station, where cherries are hand sorted, disc pulped, fermented for 16-24 hours under water, double washed, and dried on raised African beds for 21 days.
