This coffee comes from the Rwenzori Mountains in Uganda, known as the 'Mountains of the Moon', where volcanic soils and high elevations produce coffees with remarkable sweetness and vibrant acidity. The lot undergoes an extended anaerobic fermentation process: freshly harvested cherries are sealed in 145kg barrels for four days before being dried on raised beds. It offers notes of blackberry jam, violet, and tropical fruit. The coffee is produced by Agri Evolve, an organization that works with thousands of registered farmers in the region.
