Papua New Guinea Highland Peaberry
Summary
A washed peaberry lot from the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea, cultivated by smallholder producers across roughly 600 hectares at 1,550 meters in loamy volcanic soil. The lot comprises traditional Typica, Bourbon, and Caturra varieties, with processing centralized at the Lahamenegu wet mill operated by Volcafe PNG. Peaberry beans are small, dense and round, roasting evenly for a concentrated profile. The cup is round and creamy with a heavy body and smooth medium acidity, showing dark chocolate and brown sugar layered with blackberry, dried plum and bright citrus, finishing with a clean black tea quality.
